Let it go

If the movie ‘Frozen’ taught us anything, it is to let it go… let it go. Sometimes it is best to part with items, especially those that you’ve not seen in so long you forgot that you owned that item. Letting go is hard but is always best.

Piles are Fun

When cleaning the closet, the pile system works best for most people. Try it out for yourself. Piles should be dividing with a keep, toss, and a maybe pile. If you need to question yourself on whether to keep the item, throw it into the maybe pile. If you’ve not worn the item in more than six months, throw it in the toss pile. An remember, if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit and it is time to toss it out to make room for more greatness.

Categorize your Life

Once you’ve sorted all of your items and decided what to keep and what to toss, it is time to put it all back inside but this time, do it in an organized manner. For most people, closet organization is best when everything has its own home. Create this space in your closet. Divide items by sweaters, pants, jeans, t-shirts, etc. and stick to that location from this point forward.  It is so much easier when you know where it is at and where it is going.
